Findmypast, whose online brands include Genes Reunited and The British Newspaper Archive, began working with Rabbit & Hare in XXXX.
To coincide with Remembrance Day 2017, we were asked to devise a month-long, online campaign introducing new customers to the breadth of military records available on the site. The client wanted us to drive new visitors and registrations throughout November, particularly during a free access period in the second week. Within a very tight timeframe, we presented six hard-hitting and visually emotive campaign ideas for initial discussion.
One of the routes – ‘They Made History’ – positioning our ancestors as heroes, was chosen. We then developed a set of campaign assets that ran throughout the month, including:
- Four different landing pages - Animated web banners - Facebook advertising - Banners for the British National Archives website
We were responsible for concepts, picture research, photo-manipulation, copywriting, content planning, design and digital development.
The campaign resulted in a 300% increase in site traffic and XXX new registrations. Following this success, we were asked to create a 10-month campaign to launch Findmypast’s suffragette collection and help mark the centenary of the Representation of the People Act.
